The great tenor, Enrico Caruso recorded this version in 1916.

The Three Tenors consisting of Placido Domingo, Luciano Pavarotti and Jose Carreras recorded the song together several times. All three were  avid soccer fans and they held concerts together during the  World Cup in Rome (1990),  Los Angeles(1994),  Paris (1998) and Yokohama (2002).

This teenage trio of tenors performed during an Italian musical variety show.  They later became known as Il Volo.
